Dear Mom,
It’s Daisy. First, the news: the food here is unlimited and nobody says “that’s not for you.”
“She stole my side of the bed every single night.”
Yes. That was me. I regret nothing.
A few confessions, now that you can’t do anything about it.
The socks were me. The other socks were also me.
I was never guarding the house. I barked at the mail carrier because they kept leaving, and I took the credit.
You asked “who’s a good dog?” for years and never once answered it. It was me. It was always me.
You keep telling people I was the best dog. Correct. Keep going.
I made you laugh every day for 12 years, and I’m not stopping because of a small thing like dying.
So laugh. That’s an order. Then cry if you need to. I’ll allow it.
And don’t clean the couch yet. That took years of work.
P.S. There’s still a treat in your coat pocket. You know the one.
Love, always,
Daisy
